It is home to various geological sites relevant to the development of the Sea of Japan. As geographical features, it has ria-type beaches, dunes, sand bars, volcanoes, and valleys. Due to its diversity, the geopark is home to rare plants such as Pseudolysimachion ornatum, Ranunculus nipponicus, and Ciconia boyciana.
