Best of Georgia, explore natural wonders, historic sites, Southern cuisine, and vibrant culture - Top things to do in Georgia - world holiday vibes blog

Like the seed, like the way, is one of the statements I always side for. That means the place where you are seeded matters the most when you grow. And when saying these, one place my mind strikes is ‘the Peach State‘. Have you ever heard of a land called the peach state? Why peach state?

Yes! Because it was the land leading mass production and distribution of peach fruit, including several orchards. Though this land has gone down in ranks, it is sometimes called the peach state. But the way I view it is different; peach is a fruit mix of sweet and sour!

The perfect blend of sweetness and sourness is in peaches. Likewise, the land offers everything to everyone! It has sweet for sweet lovers and sour for sour lovers. It’s hard to find a state with all, but this home is an exception; I mean GEORGIA! And that is why I believe Georgia is called the peach state, offering both sweet and sour and the right blend of it!

When talking about Georgia, the list could literally go on and on, yet I am picking my favourites for you to make your holiday worth a visit Georgia! And as usual, first on the list is, no matter what you do, always have fun!

Historic Savannah City

One of the most prepossessing towns in the world, Savannah’s Historic District is home to cobblestone walkways, well-kept gardens, and oak-shaded parks covered with silvery Spanish moss.

The Savannah Historic District is well-known beyond Georgia as well. It’s the biggest urban historic district in the United States, sustaining relatively precise dimensions to the original city of Savannah as it was during the Civil War. The historic district features more than twenty city squares filled with mansions, museums, churches, monuments and forts of the Revolutionary & Civil War eras.

The perfect Georgia holiday destination for all ages – buzzing with art, culture, festivals, concerts, live theatre, outdoor cafés, fine dining establishments, and genuine Southern hospitality.

Georgia Aquarium

Visit the second-largest aquarium in the world, Georgia Aquarium - world holiday vibes blog

One cool thing I love to do in Georgia would be to visit the second-largest aquarium in the world, Georgia Aquarium, which is also the largest in the Western Hemisphere. It boasts exhibitions that call for 10 million gallons of water altogether!

The aquarium, which opened its doors in 2005, gives visitors a look into the everyday life of many different marine species, ranging from whale sharks to bottlenose dolphins and sea otters to beluga whales. There are also manta rays with thirteen-foot wingspans and adorable African penguins that everyone admires.

Don’t forget to visit the dolphin stadium, where dolphin performs for around 30 minutes. They’re the highlight of any aquarium tour and are regarded as a worldwide show. You may also scuba dive or snorkel with the fish here if you have a SCUBA certification!

This is why visiting the Georgia Aquarium with the whole family is enjoyable and something you can’t do anywhere else.

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest

Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, popular tourist destination for the summer season - world holiday vibes blog

One of Georgia’s most impressive expanses of natural green is the 750,000-acre Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest.

It’s a popular tourist destination, especially in the summer, and the beautiful rush of trees and other flora makes it thrilling and calming at the same time. Going for a hike, picnic, or camping trip sounds unimaginable to me. Ridges, valleys, and waterfalls enchant visitors all year long, and all indulge in activities like camping, hiking, and biking that are unparalleled by any other state.

There is no question at all; you should never miss this rugged treasure of northern Georgia, especially if you love the outdoors.

The Varsity – Largest Drive-in

Since 1928, The Varsity, the biggest drive-in restaurant in the world, has been offering burgers, fries, and Coca-Cola. The Varsity is well famed for its chilli dogs and onion rings. Still, it also offers a wide variety of other traditional American cuisines, such as burgers, chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes. Visit The Varsity if you’re in Atlanta and want a taste of Georgian history.

The Museum of Aviation

Museum of Aviation, best spot to spend time and the fourth most popular museum and the second-largest museum in the United States Air Force - world holiday vibes blog

For machinery buffs and aircraft enthusiasts like me, the Museum of Aviation is one best spot to spend time. The Museum of Aviation is the Department of Defense’s fourth most popular museum and the second-largest museum in the United States Air Force. Over 85 historic U.S. Air Force aircraft, missiles, cockpits, and award-winning displays are housed at the museum. The Museum of Aviation’s gift store, cafe, or even designated picnic area are all worth a visit once you’ve finished exploring the fascinating showcases!

After hearing all about peaches, now that your taste buds are tingling, you probably can’t wait to sample one of Georgia’s delicious peaches. Fruit picking is a great summer pastime, and there are many orchards to visit all around the state. I suggest visiting Southern Belle Farm, which is only 38 minutes from Atlanta. In the summer, go outside, get a punnet, and sample a peach right from the tree! For a hot summer day, sweet peach juice is the ideal thirst quencher.

Ahoy matey! I am Aakifa Kellen, a Vibes Group UK content writer. I view travelling as a carbon copy of a lovely picture. Adding colours is all one has to do. Deciding the colours and where to colour them is the painter's choice. My imagination of travel is a wall of pictures with fairy lights and twinkles in between that lights up life when I add new colours to the wall. Fascinating, isn't it? That is why I write about travel blogs. Writing about them makes me share my interest with you and let you know the top travel destinations you can tenderly be around the world. I connect via time spent travelling and making memorable moments!
