Spot A Humpback Or Killer Whale
The North Pacific Sea channel near Vancouver frequently breaks in pandemonium. Off the starboard side of your boat, a killer whale and calf can be seen, complete with sploshing tail flukes, nursing cries, and spumy wakes. A humpback whale could also approach your boat. Whale watching in Vancouver is a popular activity because of these kinds of interactions. Most tour companies have locations in Downtown and on Granville Island, and many of them offer tours lasting anything from three hours to all day. With the cetacean-spotting season lasting from March to October, sightings are practically guaranteed (or you can go again).
Richmond Night Market
It’s open on weekends and holidays from May through October. This is North America’s biggest night market. You can have a taste of Asia’s renowned night markets at the Richmond Night Market. Shop for presents and accessories at the retail stalls after sampling meals like grilled squid, pho fries, gyozas, roti mac & cheese, and nitrogen ice cream at the food vendors. Granville Island
Granville Island was renovated in the 1970s and now has a public market, grocery stores, restaurants, artist studios and galleries, retail, and a welcoming green area. Technically speaking, Granville Island is a peninsula rather than an island. Spend the afternoon on the island by taking a lovely small Aquabus. Everything from confections to cheeses to bread to meats may be found at the huge public market. Pick up a few things and have a picnic close to False Creek, or treat yourself to the market’s food court, which is stocked with delectable regional fare.
Sea-To-Sky Highway
The Sea-to-Sky corridor, one of the most scenic highways in the world, takes travellers 1.5 hours to go from the centre of downtown Vancouver to the renowned ski resort of Whistler. You’ll want to pack a lunch and your camera and fill up the rental vehicle with petrol because this trip is one you won’t want to miss. You’ll see waterfalls, breathtaking panoramas, a beautiful cultural centre, and a suspension bridge along the route.
Gastown’s Steam Clock
The time-worn centre of Vancouver is called Gastown after “Gassy Jack,” a barkeeper from England by the name of John Deighton. This stunning grid east of Downtown is filled with stories of firearms, gold and grain whisky, but a clock stands out among the area’s steadfast brick-red bars. The whistle-blowing, steam-shooting steampunk attraction is a postcard symbol and one of the few working steam clocks left in existence, so it’s not just any old timepiece.
Stanley Park
A huge 1,000 acres of this must-see park are filled with attractions, including beaches, an aquarium, play areas, a pool and splash park, botanical gardens, a golf course, 17 tennis courts, and more. Considering everything it provides, you might easily spend a day inside the park’s boundaries. Explore the 40 miles of trails inside or try biking the Seawall on the outside to get lost among ferns and century-old cedars. Bear in mind to keep a lookout for coyotes, bald eagles, great blue herons, beavers, raccoons, and occasionally even whales. Take the Ghost Train throughout the autumn for a frightening Halloween adventure.

Browse the works of gifted regional artists and take something special home. There are paintings, pottery, jewellery, fibre arts, wood carvings, and goods like candles and teas manufactured by hand.
